This contributes to an exciting and highly interesting career environment with huge opportunity to make a real difference.

This position presents the opportunity to leverage your practise experience and broaden your skill base by moving into a nationally focused role. In this role you will drive the strategic and operational decisions for our Special Treatment Units (STU's) and ensure consistency of best practice  nationally. (STU's deliver evidence-based and culturally informed intervention for the highest risk people in the Departments care and are based on principles of therapeutic communities ).

Use your clinical practise knowledge to take a high level strategic approach to influence the direction of STU professional practice. You will monitor STU's on adherence to procedural guidelines/policy and standards for the provision of quality psychological services. In addition you will also ensure that we are responding to the cultural needs of the people in our care, particularly Maori.

We are looking for a psychologist with exceptional relationship management skills who can establish credibility to lead, influence and engage with all stakeholders and implement change initiatives. In this influential role you will work with a wide range of people including National Office staff, Regional Management, our exceptional psychological staff and external stakeholders and providers.
