Working at Parliament offers an extremely unique experience. It presents an exciting challenge for those in search of an administrative role with a difference.

We are looking for a Private Secretary (Administration) to provide support in one of our senior Ministerial Offices. If you value teamwork and act with integrity this could be the position for you.

The Private Secretary (Admin) is the first point of contact for visitors and telephone enquiries in the Ministerial Office. Ministerial Offices require the very best of service, so it is essential that you are diplomatic, reliable and methodical in your approach to work.

This role has a lot of scope for growth. Daily duties will involve the tracking and drafting of correspondence, invitations, meeting requests and Official Information Act requests. You will also take responsibility for the processing of internal mail and providing general administrative services to the office. There is also an ability to assist with the coordination of the Minister's diary. As you gain experience, you could be called upon to carry out research and assist with answering written questions. This experience is a good springboard for advancement into other roles within the Parliamentary complex.

To perform these tasks exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, sound judgement, written and oral communication skills and a flexible approach to work are skills we rate highly.

Additional skills required are effective keyboard skills and the ability to use a variety of software packages and databases. Due to the nature of the role, secretarial or reception experience is preferable.
