In this role, you will:

  • Implement policy and legislative decisions that will impact communities around the country
  • Lead projects to deliver on the Government s strategic work programme and regulatory obligations
  • Help manage projects to deliver outcomes for communities around the country
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with relevant community leaders and tāngata whenua groups
  • Mentor and support others in the team

As part of the Policy Group in the Policy, Regulations and Community Advice branch, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to supporting the safety, wellbeing and success of New Zealand communities, and provide advice, and work alongside our Ministers in Government.

We are recruiting for a Senior Operations Analyst who is:

  • Very experienced working with Iwi stakeholders, particularly in implementing policy decisions and negotiating shared outcomes. An understanding of te reo is desirable
  • Experienced in monitoring and analysing the performance of organisations in the public or private sector
  • Experienced in providing policy and/or strategic advice to Ministers
  • Competent managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Able to form strong and efficient working relationships and work constructively with diverse stakeholders
  • A strong communicator (written and oral), and can effectively communicate to a range of audiences
  • Knowledgeable of government and policy processes
  • Able to demonstrate a can-do attitude and a commitment to service, innovation and improvement
  • Interested in improving the needs and aspirations of ethnically diverse communities in New Zealand
  • A degree in the area of Public Policy, History, Law, Politics, Social Sciences, Economics or another relevant subject, or relevant experience.
