  • Opportunity to lead and support the Regulatory Services Group of the Department of Internal Affairs to deliver and report on its business priorities and outcomes
  • Bring your experience in analytical thinking and eye for detail to support the Group to monitor and continuously improve on its performance.
  • Be part of a growing, dynamic, modern regulator that is looking to make a difference in the lives of New Zealanders.

At the Department of Internal Affairs, our purpose is to serve and connect people, communities and government to build a safe, prosperous and respected nation.  In other words, it s all about helping to make New Zealand better for New Zealanders.

As one of Government's larger regulators, the Regulatory Services Group of the Department aims to minimise harm and maximise benefits in three regulatory systems: anti-money laundering and countering financing terrorism, gambling, and digital safety.  We are a responsive risk-based regulator that uses innovation and collaboration to maximise our impact to achieve outcomes for New Zealand communities.

We are looking for a Senior Business Advisor to join the Accountability team in ensuring that the Regulatory Services Group meets its accountability requirements. Your role is focused on leading the delivery of the Group s planning and reporting of our day to day business as well as our priority projects, and leading the application of our risk and health and safety policies.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in business planning and organisational performance monitoring and reporting
  • An understanding of the public sector accountability documents and reporting frameworks
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving skills and the ability to think strategically and make connections beyond the immediate issue.
