Business Advisor, Accountability, Regulatory Services:

Contribute to outcomes that matter to New Zealand communities

         Strengthen and grow your skills

         Work in a modern, up-beat, future-facing environment

At the Department of Internal Affairs, our purpose is to serve and connect people, communities and government to build a safe, prosperous and respected nation. In other words, it's all about helping to make New Zealand better for New Zealanders.

As one of Government's larger regulators, the Regulatory Services Group of the Department aims to minimise harm and maximise benefits in three regulatory systems: anti-money laundering and countering financing terrorism, gambling, and digital safety. We are a responsive risk-based regulator that uses innovation and collaboration to maximise our impact to achieve outcomes for New Zealand communities.

We are looking for a Business Advisor to join the Accountability team.  You will be a key player in gathering, analysing and reporting performance information to senior decision-makers.  You will develop, maintain and improve systems and processes that support the accountability function and wider group to work efficiently and effectively together.  You will also support the Senior Advisor Official Correspondence to deliver quality, timely services, and have the opportunity (depending on experience) to lead and support priority projects for the team.

To succeed in this role you will have:

Experience, or the capability and enthusiasm for learning business planning and organisational performance monitoring and reporting

An understanding, or the capability and enthusiasm for learning about the public sector accountability documents and reporting frameworks

Excellent relationship management and communication skills. If you are looking for a positive, supportive environment where you will be challenged and supported to grow and where the work you do matters to communities across New Zealand — we would love to hear from you.
