The details matter when you re writing history Are you the sort of person who can pay attention to the small details, while never losing sight of the bigger picture? At the Environmental Protection Authority, we re focussed on the vital job of protecting New Zealand s environment, and way of life. We re looking for a Human Resources coordinator to help in this work by providing high-quality administration and support. We're working for the good of New Zealand The Environmental Protection Authority, or EPA, is at the forefront of some of the biggest issues facing New Zealand. Our rivers, our mountains, our forests, our wildlife, and the New Zealand way of life, all depend on the decisions we make at the EPA. The impact of our work will last for decades, even centuries. You will work with our expert teams from scientists to lawyers, communicators to cultural advisors as we work together toward the vision of an environment protected, enhancing our way of life and the economy. We value your knowledge and experience We are looking for a highly-organised individual with strong attention to detail, who can hit the ground running. This role would suit a recent HR graduate, an experienced EA keen to move into HR, or perhaps someone who has had a break from work and is looking to return. The role includes administrative activities to support our outsourced payroll function, data entry, and processing of employment documentation. We are a technologically savvy team; 2018 saw us successfully complete a full implementation of SAP SuccessFactors which includes an end-to-end HR system. As the HR Coordinator you will be instrumental in embedding the system within HR, and will use it to administer our learning offerings, induction and off-boarding processes. As this role involves all facets of HR administration and coordination, you will need to have very strong attention to detail, be confident with systems and adaptable to change. You will be process-focused and always on the lookout for improvements in how we do things. What we re looking for The successful applicant will be focused on delivering exceptional internal customer service, coordination of payroll and organisation wide learning activities. We are looking for someone who has: A tertiary qualification in HR, Employment Law, IT or Finance; or equivalent experience Proficiency and/or high aptitude to work with HR Information Management Systems Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) A customer-centric focus A high level of confidentiality and integrity Accurate data entry skills with strong numerical ability Basic knowledge of current NZ employment legislation is desirable but not essential What we can offer you This is a permanent full-time position based in our central city offices on Lambton Quay. You ll be joining a close-knit and supportive HR team, which is focused on achieving a busy work plan. The position is a great opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of HR whilst developing your admin and system experience. The EPA values its employees, and takes pride in offering a great working environment, lots of professional development, and in supporting work-life balance. Some of the benefits of working with us include on-site weekly Maori language lessons and regular workshops to develop staff understanding and appreciation of Te Ao M ori, as well as frequent talks on a variety of topics from fascinating external speakers. We also have a range of staff groups, from gardening to adventure running, that cater to the diverse interests of our staff. In addition to these great benefits at work, we also offer our staff extra leave on top of the standard legislative requirements.
