We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our busy Regional team. The role of Region Property Coordinator is based from our Regional Headquarters in Wellington, however we may consider applicants from our wider regional areas being Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Whanganui, Manawatu, or Wairarapa.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity established on 1 July 2017 under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 2017. The role of our new organisation is to reduce unwanted fires, respond to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents, natural disasters and support increased community resilience.

Our new, unified organisation provides a fire and emergency service that delivers for communities, and the firefighters who serve them, now and in the future.

Reporting to the National Property Manager this position will cover the areas within the Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Whanganui, Manawatu, Wairarapa and Wellington.

You will be responsible for management of the maintenance of Fire and Emergency leased and owned properties within those areas. You will also be accountable for liaising with external providers and contractors to ensure the effective scheduling and oversight of planned, programmed and emergency maintenance of Fire and Emergency sites.

Along with your above average computer literacy, excellent written and oral communication skills and your attention to detail, to be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Have an extensive practical background, preferably in construction/ facilities management
  • Proven and extensive practical facilities management/ project management experience
  • A well-developed knowledge of building materials, building code, standards and legislation
  • Proven experience working with contractors and managing construction contracts
  • Ability to work autonomously to meet the needs of your clients
  • The ability to maintain consistent standards within a nationally dispersed team
  • The ability to collaborate and build positive working relationships with a wide range of people
  • Exceptional time management, engagement and project planning skills
  • Valid driver's licence and be willing to travel including some overnight travel

We will provide you with a unique opportunity to utilise your facilities management and contract management experience in a key emergency service environment, where your relationship building skills and technical competency will be highly valued. Travel is required. The remuneration for this role is $86,992-$96,658.
