Statistics New Zealand has an opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated Interviewer to join our Field Collections team.

The Field Collections team is responsible for collecting survey information from households and businesses across New Zealand. The information we collect is used by our business to produce meaningful stories about New Zealand to help people make informed decisions.

This role

As a Field Interviewer you will be visiting selected households to conduct face-to-face interviews. You'll be given all the tools you need to succeed, great training and on-going support.

We offer an hourly rate of $21.14 plus allowances.

This is a role in which hours will vary, including both evening and weekend work.  Generally it will be part time position however there will be periods where you will be required to work 75 hours in a fortnight to meet business needs. It is estimated that the weekly average expected hours will be 20 for your geographical location. Please note these hours may fluctuate dependent on business requirements.

The successful applicant will be:

  •  confident with a computer
  •  have a current clean New Zealand driver's license
  •  own a reliable vehicle
  •  have access to a broadband internet connection at home
  •  market research or door sales experience will be of advantage.

It's also important you live in the immediate area that's being surveyed. We are currently seeking people in the Hauraki/Coromandel areas.
