The purpose of the role

As Manager Workforce Relations, you are accountable for leading and managing a team of HR Advisors in the delivery of generalist operational and specialist support. You will be responsible for the organisation s Employment Relations function and Health; Safety and Wellness programme and your team will be expected to provide advice and direction to the organisation and their associated portfolios on these subjects. You will also have responsibility for managing the payroll team.

In this role, you will ensure that the necessary support and expertise is available to underpin the overall services delivered by your team.

Person specifications

To be successful in this role, you ll have:

  • Experience in leading an ER function within a complex unionised organisation 
  • In depth knowledge of employment law and relevant acts related to employment relationships

A tertiary qualification, or equivalent professional knowledge gained through the significant experience working as an ER specialist or as an HR generalist with a problem resolution focus; membership of the HRINZ desirable.
