Data Broker, Environmental Reporting

Stats NZ, Tatauranga Aotearoa, is New Zealand s only government agency that lives, breathes and dreams data. We re the home of the Government Statistician and the Chief Data Steward and we think data has the power to change lives.  We re doing this by taking the lead on the tools, policy and evolving digital world of data and statistics.

The purpose of the role

In this newly established role you will: 

  • Coordinate joint data procurement between MFE and Stats NZ for Environmental Reporting
  • Design and implement procurement and data supply processes
  • Establish new data supply relationships to support development of Environmental Economic Accounts 
  • Explore opportunities to supplement and enhance our Agriculture Production Statistics
  • Develop a roadmap for our environmental data needs

Person specifications

To be successful in this role you will need: 

  • 3-5 years experience in data sourcing or contract management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience turning technical data requirements into contracts 
  • The ability to adapt and deal with ambiguity
  • Strategic thinking skills

We re also offering remuneration for this role between $84,249 - $113,984 per annum, depending on the skills and experience you bring to the role.
