Job Description

Our highly engaged Cybersecurity team operate at the heart of New Zealand's democracy and support the security of information systems in the Parliamentary Precinct and out-of-Parliament offices. Our team are responsible for keeping abreast of the latest cyber threats, hunting for them in the network, and protecting the network from harm, while ensuring our diverse user base continues to receive a world-class, highly-mobile digital working environment.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Support the development of cyber security policy and procedures
  • Plan and deliver a work programme supporting certification and accreditation - including risk assessment, control selection and audit programmes
  • Engage with business units across Parliament to understand their requirements and security challenges - and come up with solutions
  • Coordinate with domestic and international Parliaments and cyber security partners
  • Develop the user education and awareness programme

What you will bring to the role:

  • Proven experience in an information security role
  • A solid understanding of infosec risks and mitigations
  • Familiarity with the NZISM and PSR
  • The ability to turn technical concepts into plain English
  • A professional approach, a good attitude, and great relationship-building skills
