The Treasury is the New Zealand Government's lead economic and financial advisor.  Our vision is to be a world leading Treasury working towards higher living standards for New Zealanders.

We have a great opportunity for two Analysts to join our Skills, Employment, and Enterprise team here at the Treasury. The team is responsible for Treasury's Labour Market, Immigration, Tertiary Education, Science and Innovation, Competition, Collective Bargaining, Economic Development, and Business Growth policy advice. 

Our Team

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides policy advice to Government on a wide range of issues across the economy.

You'll have the opportunity to work across the wide range of policy issues we advise on. The roles requires advising a range of agencies and Ministers on the business environment, the labour market and the tertiary education system.

The team currently has 16 members, at a range of levels and from a range of backgrounds. We are part of the Growth and Public Services directorate, with 6 other teams working across a range of issues including Climate Change, Regional Economic Development, Natural Resources, Education, Economic Strategy and Regulatory Quality.

What we are looking for

As an Analyst at the Treasury you are.  Ideally you'll also have:

  • At least three years' policy or analytical experience
  • The ability to use communication, leadership, relationship and analytical skills to get traction on complex policy problems
  • Well tested interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • An ability to work constructively in a team environment, and
  • A relevant tertiary qualification

 

If you have strategy, policy, finance or other similar experience we want to hear from you. An understanding of labour market, economic development or the business environment would be an advantage, however we are interested in candidates from a broad range of backgrounds.
