Permanent, Full-time

Remuneration range: $90,233 - $122,082

The Public Affairs Team at Police National Headquarters seeks a talented senior internal communications professional to join our team in Wellington.

Our people are what makes New Zealand Police a great organisation. This role takes on the responsibility of ensuring that our 13,000 staff are kept informed about policies, change projects, operational orders and other issues both in district and nationally which affect them.

We want staff to receive high-quality, engaging and timely information that keeps them up-to-date with what's happening in New Zealand Police, in their district and nationally. We want our staff to be highly engaged, high performing and to role-model Police's values.

You will develop and implement communications that maintain and enhance staff engagement and provide a pivotal link between Police National Headquarters, District Commanders and district staff.

The role is one of five Senior Communications Advisors in a centralised Internal Engagement team, four based in Wellington and one in Auckland.

You will develop and deliver communications across a range of channels including content for intranet, print and social media, and for local stakeholders as required. Speech writing and other event support will form part of the role as required.

 

 

Skills & Experience:

 

 

You will have strong skills and experience at a senior level and will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience as an internal communications adviser or in general communications with an interest in organisational culture
  • Demonstrable experience as a trusted and respected adviser at a senior level
  • Excellent writing skills across a number of different channels
  • Experience in delivering content via social media
  • Proven strong relationship management skills
  • Understanding of the government environment
