Job Description

  • Do you want to set and deliver new policy priorities around overseas investment, property rights and Government acquisition of land?
  • Are you an experience policy leader looking for your next exciting challenge?
  • Do you want to lead an engaged team?

LINZ is a diverse government agency that touches most New Zealanders.  We do this by pursuing four outcomes: helping ensure geographic and property information contributes to better decision making; that New Zealanders continue to benefit from an up-to-date property rights system; that the Crown's land is put to best use; and that overseas ownership of sensitive assets is in New Zealand's best interests.

As Manager Property System and Investment Policy you'll be responsible for helping shape the direction of policy around overseas investment, property rights and the Governments acquisition of land. There are connections to major issues across government including housing and infrastructure, Maori land and economic development. In leading this work you'll work closely with senior leaders across the organisation.

You'll have experience leading to teams to deliver significant outcomes when it comes to developing legislation and delivering policy via the policy development process.  And it goes without saying you've got that ability to apply analytical and conceptual thinking to process complex information quickly and thoroughly.

Your stakeholder engagement skills will be second to none and you'll bring strong external working relationships from your time in the policy environment.  In fact leveraging off those relationships will ensure you make your mark by being part of a strategy led policy team highly focussed on the Minister and their needs.

This is a great opportunity to use your policy leadership skills and be part of a team that will shape the future direction of New Zealand.  If you are interested in the role apply online and submit your CV and cover letter outlining your skills and experience for your preferred role.  We are looking for evidence of how you meet each of the key selection criteria.
