Payroll Analyst

F $62,925.00 - $85,139.00

New Zealand Police has one of the most complex Payroll systems in New Zealand, driven by numerous collective agreements and also the need to meet external legal obligations.

As such, we are looking for a Principal Payroll Analyst who can help support our Payroll Production team in analysing and implementing large scale payroll changes.

On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for reviewing payroll changes to our employees and ensuring they are correct and are in line with our collective agreements and comply with the relevant New Zealand laws.

 

You will also be tasked with

  • Developing and maintaining payroll metrics
  • Identifying technical issues, errors or change requirements in the Police payroll system
  • Reviewing and improving processes
  • Working with the relevant parties to create solutions to issues and errors

 

To be successful in this role you will have

  • A background in end to end New Zealand payroll
  • Proven experience and understanding of all relevant payroll related legislation including, but not limited to, the Holidays Act, the Wages Protection Act and the Privacy Act.
  • An analytical mind-set with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A customer service ethos
  • Previous experience with SAP is preferred

  • The successful applicants must reside in Wellington and have the right to work in New Zealand

  • Must be a NZ or Australian citizen or a NZ resident or valid NA work visa
