Lead Advisor - Partnering for Outcomes (South Island)

About the role:

 

This is a senior and influential role, representing and supporting the Regional Manager to ensure a strategic and knowledgeable approach to collaborative commissioning and investment across the South Island.  You will need to be independent and self-motivated whilst being comfortable as part of a team.  You with thrive in a dynamic and diverse changing and learning environment.

 

•          A relationship role with Iwi, Maori and NGOs to develop strong partnerships.

•          Leading a team of advisors.

•          Supporting and influencing collaboration.

•          Leading the commissioning approach.

 

As a Lead Advisor you will play a critical role in supporting a collaborative commissioning approach that will advance the wellbeing and positive long term outcomes of tamariki and rangatahi.  As part of this work you will successfully lead and manage a team of advisors, supporting them to work with data and emerging best practice across the South Island.

 

The role is about building effective relationships with Iwi, Maori, NGO partners and communities.  Oranga Tamariki has a Strategic Partnership Agreement with Ngāi Tahu and you will play a leading role in ensuring we are upholding our shared values and progressing the agreed areas of work that have been identified.

 

Oranga Tamariki is currently experiencing complex change as a result of legislation change.  This offers opportunity to influence systems change at an organisation, sector and systems level, internally and externally, in a way that makes a genuine, positive impact on the lives of tamariki, rangatahi, their whānau and their community.

Skills and experience:

 

  • Experience in and knowledge of collaborative commissioning, preferably in a related sector.
  • Experience in front line services, working with government agencies, Iwi/Maori and Pacific peoples organisations and social service stakeholders.
  • Project Leadership experience, especially with community engagement and planning.
  • Senior Relationship Management skills with internal and external stakeholders, along with the ability to coach staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of Mana Tamaiti, Whakapapa and Whanaungatanga in the context of Section 7AA of the Act.

 

A clean, current driver licence is essential and a willingness to drive the Ministry's vehicles.  A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
