Permanent opportunity for a Technology Specialist 

Inland Revenue is currently undergoing one of the largest transformation programmes in Australasia. We're aiming to make tax simple, more open and certain for New Zealanders and transform the way we do business. The information we have and how we manage and share it with our people is a key part of this programme and has led to a position for a Level 3 Technology Specialist becoming available in our Information Technology and Change Team.

Our Information Technology & Change (IT&C) group provide critical thinking and a broad perspective to ensure core businesses are supported and safeguarded.

 

About the role

As our Problem Manager, you will work to ensure that current and relevant knowledge management resources are available to support and assist our Service Desk team in delivering a timely and consistent service.  You will also oversee and aid our Application and Infrastructure support teams in their resolving of recurring root cause issues. 

 

The key responsibilities are well documented in the attached Role Description but to be the successful applicant your CV should detail career highlights that demonstrate the following skills and attributes: 

  • Experience in Technology Architecture and Application Architecture
  • High level problem solving skills and the ability to see & manage problems through to a comprehensive solution
  • Broad understanding of IT & the technical skills required when working in a large organisation
  • excellent reporting and analysis skills
  • strong communication skills that include the ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence
  • excellent planning, coordination and time management skills
  • the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships including stakeholder engagement
  • self-motivated and able to work both autonomously and in a team
