Coordinator Youth Justice - Manurewa - Oranga Tamariki

What you will do?

  • Early intervention with high needs young people aged between 10-18 years old
  • Process information regarding the offence being made from the Police or Court and hold a Family Group Conference
  • Engage with victims, rangatahi, whānau and other necessary professionals
  • Lead, convene, hold and facilitate the Family Group Conference process
  • Ensure information and advice is obtained to ensure a quality outcome
  • Ensure the wellbeing of the young person, family and victims
  • Work closely with the Police when supporting rangatahi who are victims of abuse
  • Network and build strong relationships within the community


What you will bring?

  • Significant experience with planning and mediating
  • Vast experience working within your community and establishing strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Sound judgement and organisational skills
  • The ability to make tough decisions on a day to day basis
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle conflicting priorities
  • A bold, tenacious, courageous and resilient outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience
  • Empathy, patience and ability to see past what someone may be struggling with
  • A full, clean, valid driver's licence
  • Passion and drive to work to a process
  • Knowledge of Te Reo would be a plus
