About the opportunity

Crown Property has implemented an exciting new strategy and we now have a unique opportunity for a new Portfolio Manager in Christchurch.

As a Portfolio Manager you will be undertaking core land and property management functions as well as management and oversight of exciting and challenging projects across New Zealand. You will be working in a high performing, passionate team providing opportunities to share and further your own knowledge and skills. Your work will assist in realising the future potential of Crown land through the removal of redundant structures or mitigation of hazards. Projects include contaminated land remediation, demolitions of ex-hospitals, schools and prisons as well as build projects of bridges, waste water systems and earthquake strengthening. Currently the team are primarily focused on the residential red zones in Christchurch and the Crown's Landbank portfolios but we have an involvement across LINZ and client agency portfolios.  


What you will bring

The key selection criteria for this role are: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience  
  • Experience of managing projects and contracts with suppliers, construction or demolition experience is preferred but not required
  • An understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, and 2016 asbestos regulations, is desirable   
  • Ability to translate complex technical matters into written and verbal advice
  • A working knowledge of administrative law, contract law, or other related disciplines.
  • Financial management and administrative skills
  • Understanding of the context of working within the public sector
