Job Description

What you will do
 
Lead the design, development and implementation of the equipment management policy and process framework. 
 
You will also:

  • Be a custodian of the enduring framework, ensuring its structure and content is fit-for-purpose, remains relevant & user-friendly, aligns with other NZDF policies, processes and procedures, and reflects NZDF information management principles; 
  • Elicit, analyse, and document content;
  • Draft policy that is aligned to the NZDF policy framework and;
  • Manage the internal consultation process.

What we need
 
The ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in the development of policies and business processes and procedures in a complex organisation;
  • Knowledgeable on business process modelling notations and business policy and process frameworks, & able to adapt improvement techniques to fit the culture and audience;
  • Excellent with communication, facilitations skills and maintaining relationships at all levels;
  • An expert in leading business process framework activities (including scoping, analysis, design, and implementation); and
  • Someone who has a good understanding of policy development and frameworks and who can also work alongside continuous improvement practitioners to contribute to the NZDF Equipment Management Organisation (EM Org) continuous improvement framework.

Who we are
 
The NZDF Equipment Management Organisation (EM Org) provides a single point of accountability for the through-life management of specified equipment across the Land, Air and Maritime environments, thereby ensuring that all equipment receives consistent strategic management while in service in NZDF.
 
EM Org is accountable for the day to day delivery of through-life integrated logistic support (ILS) and management of equipment, enabling NZDF to meet its business and operational objectives to the appropriate standards.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:
 
Low level Security Clearance
·         most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
·         is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
 
If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
