Salary: $43,784 - $55,332


We re looking for one Registration Officer to join the Births, Deaths and Marriages Business Unit in a fixed term or secondment till August 2020 to cover parental leave.

Who are we?
Births, Deaths and Marriages is responsible for registering, maintaining and providing access to all birth, death, marriage and civil union records in New Zealand a job we ve been doing since 1848.  

We are a part of the Service Delivery and Operations Branch, Department of Internal Affairs, where we are the primary source of information on personal identity and key life events. 

Our customers are at the very heart of what we do. And as one of our valued Registration Officers, you will be working in a busy, focused, customer oriented environment.  We re looking for team players with an eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines, work efficiently and effectively and have good computer skills.   Some aspects of the role are:

  • Receiving and receipting notifications and applications for BDM products and services, and checking those documents to ensure that they comply with legislative and policy requirements.
  • Communicating , either verbally or in writing, with customers to facilitate the accurate and timely delivery of BDM products and services.
  • Completing complex data entry for the accurate and timely processing and delivery of BDM products and services.
