  • Help tell New Zealand's health and safety performance system story
  • Strategic/thought leadership for data-related activities and improvements
  • Permanent position  - Based in Wellington

Our System Strategies team advises on, develops and monitors system-wide approaches to harm prevention in areas such as work-related health, workforce development, and worker participation and engagement.  This is an opportunity to join the team and help tell New Zealand's health and safety performance system story by ensuring quality data across WorkSafe and the system.

As Principal Analyst you will provide strategic and thought leadership and support for data-related activities and improvements. You will consolidate system performance information, data analysis, intelligence, and research and evaluation; distilling these simply to deliver new and fresh insights.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • provide robust analysis, advice, and intellectual leadership
  • drive integrated, consistent data quality across WorkSafe and other agencies
  • support clear articulation of the performance story (what progress we are making towards system targets and goals)
  • support any governance or advisory groups on data quality and performance in WorkSafe

Ideally you will:

  • be able to analyse complex data and issues and interpret into plain language
  • have experience delivering high quality advice
  • build respected relationships with diverse stakeholders - senior managers, team members, staff in partner agencies and key external stakeholders, and opinion leaders
  • grasp and synthesise the ideas, analysis and advice produced by others
  • experience providing intellectual and professional leadership to others (inside and outside of the organisation)
  • the ability and willingness to coach and mentor others by sharing your experience and helping to challenge thinking
