We are currently seeking a new Senior Gazette Officer to support the New Zealand Gazette, a dynamic business unit within the Department of Internal Affairs.

The Senior Gazette Officer will be responsible for ensuring a range of tasks are carried out effectively in preparing Gazette content for publication. These tasks primarily relate to typesetting and proof-reading notices, as well as taking responsibility for the online publication of Gazette issues within prescribed deadlines.

We are seeking someone who is a quick-learner and has proven skills in HTML, editing and proof reading, to ensure the delivery of a high-quality online service to customers.

To be successful in this role, you must

  • Have an intermediate level of HTML formatting comprehension, excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office, and be confident in the use of content management systems
  • Have experience working in the digital or online publishing industry or have a related tertiary qualification
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to work with a wide variety of people
  • Have a high attention to detail
  • Be able to meet tight deadlines and function well under pressure.
  • Have an excellent understanding of English grammar and syntax.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment to support the delivery of quality digital government services. If you want to join a team of smart, committed people who do some spectacular work for New Zealand then make sure you get in touch today.
