Job Description

  • Four full-time (0.94 FTE), permanent positions available
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scope of practice
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a cohesive Multi-Disciplinary team

The Team

Tupuna Villa is a 15 bed extended treatment unit which is part of the Adult General Inpatient Group at Hillmorton Hospital. We care for consumers with high and complex mental and physical health needs and provide specialised multidisciplinary team assessment and treatment for adults (18 years and over) with significant disability arising from an established diagnosis of psychiatric illness.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for professional and highly motivated Registered Nurse's to join us and become part of a dynamic and cohesive team that strives to make a real difference in peoples lives. Add your expertise and enthusiasm to an energetic, dynamic and innovative multi-disciplinary team, case managing individuals to discover and develop their strengths towards optimum health and potential placement into a residential setting.

The Role

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with a caring and compassionate nature will see you excel in this area. We pride ourselves working as a team in collaboration and partnership with consumers and family/whanau and strive to work within our philosophy to develop therapeutic, supportive and empowering relationships with consumers, to enable them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations

Previous mental health experience is essential. Excellent time management skills. A current NZ Driving Licence. The positions are based on a roster thus flexibility across all shifts is imperative. A comprehensive staff orientation package is provided. If you have a current NZ Registered Nursing Practising Certificate that includes a scope of practice for Mental Health then this could be the new career challenge for you.
