Job Description

  • Four positions available with a four on two off roster
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and must have a mental health scope of practice
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a cohesive Multi-Disciplinary team

Our Purpose

When you work with the Canterbury District Health Board, you're part of something very special. We plan, fund and deliver health services to the almost 600,000 New Zealanders that live in the Canterbury region. Our primary goal is to put people at the heart of everything we do.

The Team

Seager Clinic is an extended care Inpatient Unit based at The Princess Margaret Hospital. Seager Clinic provides care for people who have been assessed as having a significant disability arising from an established diagnosis of psychiatric illness. As part of a progressive organisation that values honesty, respect and integrity for every individual, this multi-varied role presents you with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging health environment.

The Role

As part of a progressive organisation that values honesty, respect and integrity for every individual, these multi-varied roles present you with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging health environment. We are looking for registered nurses who have excellent communication and time management skills and who can work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team. As we have a strong emphasis of re-engagement into the community, your confidence and ability to build strong and successful relationships, in partnership with the patient and their family/whanau, will be key to your success in this role. Previous mental health experience is essential. This position is based on a roster working four days on followed by two days off.
