Joint Venture Business Unit - Eliminating Family Violence and Sexual Violence

The Government has committed to significantly reducing family violence and sexual violence through an integrated, whole-of-government response. A Joint Venture of Chief Executives of key government agencies has been established to support Ministers with strategy development, high quality analysis and advice, and to lead a whole-of-government response to family violence and sexual violence.  A Maori-Crown partnership has also been established to make progress on this important agenda. The Joint Venture Business Unit (JVBU) has responsibility to lead, support and coordinate the work of the Joint Venture in order to prevent, detect and respond to family violence and sexual violence and to work alongside NGOs and communities.

The Role:

Principal/Senior level advisors are sought to work on the Integrated Community Response project. Key skills required are analytical/problem solving skills, operational policy and/or policy design and implementation, stakeholder management, machinery of government, communication, writing, numeracy. Knowledge of past integrated community response models would be ideal or knowledge of cross government family violence work programmes. Experience/knowledge of the NGO sector would be desirable. Key responsibilities would be:

  • analysis, cross-agency work and advice to support the implementation of Budget 19 funding for community responses
  • assisting in the development of the National Strategy and Action Plan on community response models
  • assisting with stakeholder engagement
  • contributing to the work programme on the development of a future integrated community response model for all New Zealand communities and supporting funding bids
  • ad hoc advice to the U-S/Ministers to inform meetings.

Salary range:  $98,429 - $138,958
