Job Description

Do you have experience in rehabilitation programme design, procurement or contract management in the social or justice sector? Do you want to help craft how the Department improves the rehabilitation outcomes for the people in our care?

The Contracted Rehabilitation Programmes team needs two qualified Senior Advisers (or equivalent experience) to drive the design and delivery of effective rehabilitation programmes for people in prisons and communities. These are full time position, one permanent and one fixed term based in National Office.

The Contracted Rehabilitation Programmes team has a busy and wide-ranging work programme that includes supporting our contracted NGO providers who deliver alcohol and other drug treatment programmes and interventions in the community and prisons, non-violence programmes in the community, Tikanga programmes, child sex offender programmes in the community, parenting programmes in prisons and restorative justice processes.

As a member of the Contracted Rehabilitation Programmes team you will work on the planning, design, procurement, implementation and/or support of the ongoing delivery of our nationally contracted rehabilitation services.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a hardworking self starter and demonstrate:

  • Natural ability for building and maintaining successful relationships with Corrections' staff, managers and external partners
  • Well-developed eye for detail
  • Strong Plain English writing style
  • ‘Can do' attitude
  • Experience in procurement and contract management would be preferable
