The purpose of the role

 We currently have an opening for a Programme Coordinator to join our Enterprise Portfolio Office in Christchurch, on a 12-month fixed term contract, to work with both the 2018 Census Programme team and the 2023 Census Project Team. We are looking for a motivated and experienced person who can provide both administrative and coordination support to our Census programme and project teams, and to ensure that vital documentation, records and files are maintained in order to help us to achieve both a timely and successful delivery of both. Person specifications 

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Is pro-active and enjoys working collaboratively with people
  • Is highly organised and efficient with regards to setting up meetings, consolidating and distributing papers in a timely manner prior to meetings and ensures follow up actions (writing up and distribution of meeting minutes) have a quick turnaround time
  • Is able to prepare draft monthly programme/project reports and check information in project reviews and be the first point of contact for follow up
  • Is able to monitor, evaluate and report on risks across the programme and at the project level, and where appropriate escalate significant or urgent risks.
  • Has a solid understanding of the need for urgency with specific initiatives and strives to ensure the programme/project teams are equipped with the information needed to move at pace
  • Can communicate effectively across a broad range of audiences 
  • Has a sense of humour and good team spirit

We are looking for a motivated individual with:

  • A good understanding of and experience in working with project management methodologies, practices and tools.
  • Preferred experience in a large scale project environment or Programme Management Office (PMO).
  • Experience in administration and/or coordination.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Lotus Notes and i-Lign is also beneficial.
  • A good tertiary academic record.

We re also offering a base salary for this role between $65 - $75k,  depending on the skills and experience you bring to the role.
