Are you a Communications Advisor who has a broad base of experience (3 years+) with a desire to challenge yourself in a very meaningful programme environment?  We are looking for a talented person to join our team on a Fixed Term Agreement through to 26 June 2020.


There is no better time for you to join Inland Revenue.  We're currently undertaking a major change programme, to make tax simpler, more open and more certain for New Zealanders and transform the way we do business.  From a communications perspective, we are delivering a wide range of communications to a diverse range of stakeholders – the general public, businesses, staff and our senior leadership team to name just a few. 


You'll be able to apply your abilities across a wide range of communications functions immediately, including audio visu al, intranet and social media.  Naturally your written communication skills will be exceptional, and you'll be known for your versatility and ability to come up to speed quickly when faced with new information or challenges. You'll help get the job done by building strong relationships across the organisation with people at all levels.


You will report to the BT Communications and Stakeholder Management Lead and work as part of the team supporting the introduction of our new Tax and Social Policy system, with a focus on internal communications.  You will quickly enjoy more ownership and autonomy as you gain experience and comfort operating within this fast-paced environment.


Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • developing content for Business Transformation's channels including newsletters, scripts, presentations and the intranet
  • taking an active role in managing the production of communications and business engagement videos, working with professional AV companies and using IR equipment to create simple tactical videos
  • managing and updating the Intranet content so familiarity with Intranet programmes and SharePoint is an advantage
  • the development of a simple social media strategy and plan for Yammer
  • providing support for events run by the Business Transformation programme
