About Crown Law

Crown Law provides legal advice and representation to the Government of New Zealand in the areas of criminal, public and administrative law. As the kaitiaki of the rule of law, we support the Solicitor-General and Attorney-General to determine the Crown's view of the law. You will be the go-to person for Counsel, Senior Case Assistants and Case Assistants for expertise on court rules and styles for documentation.

You will provide day to day management and coaching to your team of around six staff, ensuring quality outcomes, on-time delivery of material and improved workflow through a focus on continuous improvement. Your team will play a key role in supporting Crown Law to deliver on its vision to provide collaborative, indispensable, legal service.

Our environment

Crown Law offers a flexible working environment and provides active career development through mentoring and training. At Crown Law you will work with corporate professionals and public lawyers committed to the rule of law and find professional challenges and opportunities that you won't find anywhere else. You will be working for a Government department that operates at the heart of New Zealand's constitution. Crown Law is underpinned by strong values that 'how' we do our work is as important as 'what' we do. This is an exciting role, working in a great team, in an organisation with a clear vision that makes a real difference for New Zealanders.
