Job Description

What you will do
 
As the Estate Analyst, you will play an integral role capturing data for the Estate Strategy Team, so we can successfully undertake the development of plans and projects for the regeneration of NZDF camps and bases.  You'll identify data needs, create new data sets and generate valuable information to ensure we are planning and investing in the right outcomes for Defence. Your invaluable support will provide the following:  

  • Help identify changes needed to meet military capability;
  • Support analysis of current and future requirements;
  • Provide statistical information drawn from data sets;
  • Lead engagement and procurement activities;
  • Research and implement trends and opportunities to improve our business;
  • Drive conclusions, set direction and provide advice to support planning programmes;
  • Contribute to a variety of projects with the single Services and NZDF HQ.

 This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that is looking at new ways to deliver on a large investment programme working with industry partners.  
 
What we need
 
We're looking for a positive and collaborative team player to enhance our wider ‘Estate Strategy' team. You will be a motivated and proactive person with the following skills and experience:

  • A professional and effective communication style both written and verbal;
  • Broad spectrum Analyst skills and experience including data management, analysis and reporting;
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and minimum of 3 years work experience;
  • An understanding of infrastructure, property or regional planning.

NZDF is undertaking a major regeneration programme developing the Defence Estate in order to achieve our overarching aim of delivering an integrated Defence Force. The Defence Estate is where our personnel live, work and train and comprises of 81,000ha of land, property and infrastructure assets valued at $4.7bn.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
