The purpose of the role

Reporting to the Workforce Relations Manager, working alongside the Business Partners and Advisory team, you will be the Senior Advisor, People and Culture (P&C) supporting, coaching and advising our leaders and people to enable them to make people decisions and manage operational matters as they arise (across our Wellington, Christchurch, and Auckland offices). Providing exceptional P&C advice and support in a busy and fast-paced organisation, you will also liaise and collaborate with the wider P&C team (including Organisational Development and People Capability team, Payroll team, and Health Safety and Wellness) to drive innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Person specifications

To be successful in this role, you will need minimum of 7 years P&C experience, alongside a proven knowledge and experience of generalist P&C processes, including:

  • Performance Management
  • Employment Relations
  • Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Reward and Recognition
  • Change management
  • Union relationships
  • Generalist proactive P&C advice and policy interpretation
  • Excellent knowledge of employment, health and safety, and payroll legislation

 

We need you to have the skill and confidence to manage change and ambiguity by using your refined ability to build effective relationships, advising and influencing at all levels of the business. You will understand what true customer and service delivery focus is, and pride yourself on your communication skills.  You quickly come to grips with new systems (our HRIS is Ci Anywhere), policies and procedures; to become a champion for them in the organisation. These are essential for us, as you will be assisting us to progress our People and Culture strategies and programmes.
