Population Insights and Agriculture

We have three roles available across our Auckland and Christchurch offices.

The value you will bring

Population Insights (Christchurch, x2 roles)

As a Statistical and Data Analyst in Population Insights, you ll be focused on key population and demographic statistics for New Zealand. Your data analysis and interpretation will result in meaningful insights about migration, population estimates and projections, life tables, births, deaths, marriages, civil unions, divorces and abortions.

 

As a Data System Analyst, you will help Population Insights transform the way we process data. You will use your coding skills to build and improve processing systems and carry out data manipulation and statistical programming. This role would suit someone who is energetic, driven, and a real team player with excellent communication skills.

 

Agriculture (Auckland, x1 role)

As a Data System Analyst, you will work with an experienced team to help produce annual agricultural production statistics. You will use your technical skills to support and improve processing systems, manipulate data, and apply statistical concepts to our data from sampling to publishing outputs. This role would suit someone who is energetic, driven, and a real team player with excellent communication skills.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Apply analytical thinking to ensure results are reliable and correct
  • Analytical curiosity that drives you to solve problems
  • Communication skills that enable you to tell stories about New Zealanders using data
  • Willingness to be coached and take feedback
  • Experience with, or a willingness to learn, SAS, R and Microsoft Excel would be valuable
