Here at our Westgate site, we have a great opportunity for a Social Worker to join us. As a Social Worker, you will help to change the lives of our young people and their whānau, helping them achieve their full potential.


A big part of your day will be working with children and young people ensuring their voices are heard. You will complete assessments, reports and formal Family Court documents, create plans, complete referrals, participate in Family Group Conferences and partner with other agencies, stakeholders and the community to get the best possible outcome


Your ability to overcome barriers and skill to drive positive outcomes will put you in good stead for this challenging yet hugely rewarding role.

To be successful in this rewarding position, you will need:

  • A qualification in social work recognised by the Social Work Registration Board (SWRB).
  • SWRB registration with a current APC or working towards gaining registration.
  • Exceptional listening skills (hear what the child or young person has to say).
  • Proven ability to quickly build rapport with tamariki and rangatahi.
  • A high degree of both verbal and written communication skills (you will need to write court reports).
  • A commitment to bi-cultural practice and a culturally responsive approach (a good understanding of Tikanga Māori advantageous).
  • A full, clean, valid driver's licence.
