Job Description

  • Are you an experienced risk professional, with programme risk experience?
  • Do you enjoy working in an innovative and fast-paced environment?
  • Would like to be involved in the establishment of innovative technology?

At Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) we are focusing on the future and modernising of our technology and the services we provide to remain connected, innovative and flexible.

New Zealand currently ranks number one in the World Bank Doing Business rankings for registering property, but we want to be bolder. We are on a mission to help New Zealand retain and enhance it's world class property system and to meet the needs of the 21st century. We have initiated a long term programme to rebuild Landonline, the system used to manage New Zealand's land information, and we are looking for people to join the team and make a valuable contribution to a programme of work that will have a positive impact across New Zealand.

We are currently redeveloping Landonline which is crucial to supporting the New Zealand way of life. There's no other way to buy land or a house in New Zealand, and it provides important information to be able to respond to emergencies, natural disasters and biosecurity concerns. We are looking for people who are keen to share their knowledge in a diverse, collaborative team environment.

We are looking for an experienced Risk and Assurance professional with a good understanding of programme risk management. Preferably, one who has worked in a modern Agile development.

In this 12 months fixed term Senior Advisor (Risk and Assurance) role you will be the specialist advisor who promotes a strong risk management culture within the programme.  You will support the programme squads and the programme leadership team by providing specialist strategic and operational risk management advice and services.

The key skills and experiences we are seeking are:

  • Experience in risk management with a strong understanding of internal control and risk management principles, preferably in a programme environment.
  • Proven experience in building trusted relationships with stakeholders, customers, and project teams.
  • Skills and experience in the promotion and education of risk practices at all levels.

This is your opportunity to join us and make a meaningful contribution to the rebuild of Landonline and our wider transformation.

We know your CV will highlight your technical skills and experience, and you will be given the opportunity to learn and grow, but what we really need is your passion, collaboration and courage.

At LINZ, we are committed to developing and promoting an environment where our people feel included and valued. If you don't feel you have all of the experience we're looking for but have the willingness to learn and align with our way of working, please consider applying. We believe skills are transferable, and enthusiasm goes a long way. Diversity is our strength and we're dedicated to bringing together people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.

Join us in our important work and in return we'll offer you a collaborative, inclusive work environment with flexible working options and wellness benefits.
