About us

Funding and Programme Delivery is a key group within the new Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. We provide funding and partner initiatives to deliver more permanent public housing and affordable rental supply. We also provide fiscal and operational support to initiatives which provide transitional housing and support services for people with a housing need and support homeless people across the country.  In collaboration with our partners we lead the delivery of these initiatives tracking the programmes performance against delivery targets and contractual milestones.

About the role

As Manager of Housing and Support Services you will have the exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of the full range of the Government's housing programmes. These crucial and high-profile programmes are aimed to better support Whanau and individuals to improve their housing stability, through the the range of services we fund.

You will lead the implementation of funding programmes and initiatives, including the maintenance of minimum standards, development of resources, promotion and stakeholder management at a national level and leading good practice development across the country. In collaboration with other Funding and Programme Delivery teams you will lead appropriate due diligence processes and complex negotiations.

 About You

We are looking for a highly successful senior leader with the proven ability to attract, grow and develop a team's expertise and capability. You will have extensive experience managing relationships in a complex cross-sectoral environment adopting a systems-wide lens. 

You will have a proven track record of achievement leading the planning, development, negotiation and management of: 

    • Support Services Programmes
    • major stakeholder engagement requirements; 
    • projects of significant complexity;  
    • in-depth understanding of the property and infrastructure sector; 
    • large funds / budgets. 
  • Proven experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with government representatives, Iwi, senior commercial sector leaders, council, property developers and other partners / parties
  • Can effectively communicate complex information to large audiences and senior stakeholders.
  • Lead strategically, with the capability to analyse large, complex issues
  • A proven track record in leading large work programmes, considering both strategic and short-term needs
  • An understanding of government structures, processes, planning and reporting requirements.
  • Credible, respected relationships with diverse stakeholders and well-developed networks amongst the economic and social science research community.
