About us

Funding and Programme Delivery is a key group within the new Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. We provide funding and partner initiatives to deliver more permanent public housing and affordable rental supply. We also provide fiscal and operational support to initiatives which provide transitional housing and support services for people with a housing need and support homeless people across the country.  In collaboration with our partners we lead the delivery of these initiatives tracking the programmes performance against delivery targets and contractual milestones.

About the role

As Manager Programme Data and Reporting you will be responsible for leading and growing a team of experts to set up and deliver a Programme Data and Reporting service. You will lead the reporting on performance of all contractual partners (and the sector more generally) in the context of programmes they are delivering on, whether that be affordable rental, transitional and public housing, Housing First, Sustaining Tenancies, Kaupapa Maori or any other area we fund partners to deliver better outcomes for individuals, whanau and communities.

 You will help create a centre of excellence for reporting to consider performance against expected outcomes.  Working in collaboration across all areas within our group, notably Programme Planning and Implementation you will help ensure we have the right data and information at our fingertips any time. This also requires ensuring a pipeline of existing and projected social houses places is maintained across housing providers

 About You

We are looking for a highly successful senior leader who has a proven track record of leading the development of intelligence capability or the development of strategic insights in a complex sector. Your strong relationship management skills will see you establish and maintain effective working relationships with government representatives and senior commercial sector leaders. Ideally you will have an understanding of housing, urban development, property and the infrastructure sector.

To be successful you will have:

  • An established record of senior leadership based on good judgement, intellectual flexibility and originality, and the capacity to think strategically.
  • Experienced senior leader of people, with the proven ability to monitor, review and improve a team's expertise and capability.
  • Can effectively communicate complex information to large audiences and senior stakeholders. Commands attention and can manage audience participation during the presentation; can change tactics midstream when something isn't working
  • A strategic outlook with the intellectual capability to analyse large, complex issues and readily grasp and synthesise the ideas, analysis and advice produced by others.
  • Ability to quickly identify new ways of thinking about the problem or issue and possible pathways forward.
  • A proven track record in leading large work programmes, considering both strategic and short-term needs.
  • An understanding of government structures, processes, planning and reporting requirements.
  • Good communication skills both written and oral.
  • Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with senior managers, staff, and key external stakeholders.
  • Credible, respected relationships with diverse stakeholders and well-developed networks amongst the economic and social science research community.
