Senior Analysts (multiple opportunities), Te Arawhiti, Wellington


We currently have multiple Senior Analyst opportunities in Te Kāhui Whakatau (Treaty Settlements), Te Kāhui Takutai Moana (Marine and Coastal Area) and Te Hāpai Ō Strategy and Policy. As a Senior Analyst you will assist claimant groups to enter into negotiations with the Crown, develop policy advice, lead negotiation or other workstreams, provide briefing and related services to the Minister, Cabinet and Parliamentary Select Committees and represent Te Arawhiti in external meetings. You will also mentor analysts and foster consistency across the office. 

To be a contender we would expect you to bring much of the following:

  • Experience in leading policy development
  • Exposure to Crown-Māori policy perspectives and frameworks
  • Experience in providing information and advice to Ministers, Cabinet Committees or Select Committees
  • Knowledge of Te Reo Māori, Tikanga Māori, Treaty of Waitangi principles and New Zealand history
  • Experience negotiating complex issues with multiple constituencies or interests
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience

Salary range $99,413-$140,348.
