Administration Support Officer – Corporate Services – Fixed term

About the role

We are looking for an Administration Support Officer who enjoys working collaboratively as one team in a challenging and fast paced environment. To be successful in this role you will be someone who can follow and adhere to policies and procedures with a high degree of accuracy, yet has the initiative to identify new innovative ways of working to build on efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality administrative support services to staff of the Electoral Commission
  • Assisting with process improvements for the administration team
  • Provide administrative support for meetings including taking minutes
  • Provide front-line reception and telephone duties
  • Manage public enquiries and ensure they are assigned to the appropriate subject matter expert to respond to promptly

About you

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • A sound working knowledge of MS systems and strong keyboard skills
  • Experience with process improvements and implantation
  • An ability to develop and improve efficiencies
  • A well-organised and methodical approach to your work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a small team
  • A high level of customer service skills
  • Flexibility and an ability to multi-task
  • Experience in minute taking
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

It would be advantageous to have:

  • Recruitment experience would be advantageous
  • Experience in working in a government organisation would be advantageous
