Permanent or Fixed Term role to December 2020

About the Role

As the Regional Veterinary Manager you will be part of our Disease Management team and will be responsible for providing strong linkages between the National Control Centre Disease Management team, the Regional Control Centre staff and the field teams. 

Supporting the Regional Manager and other teams you will be the direct communication point for all technical advice, guidance and clarification with regard to disease management, animal health, and the Programme.  It's expected you will address short and longer term technical issues and risks relevant to the M. bovis programme. 

A key component is to be the primary onsite liaison point for staff, farmers, and the community as well as attending public events from time to time to provide Programme information to farming communities. 

To be successful in this role you'll bring:

  • A Post-graduate degree in Veterinary Science or equivalent experience or PhD in Biological Sciences
  • Extensive veterinary experience
  • Knowledge with either production animal veterinary practice or animal processing verification  

You may also have

  • Large animal experience in a clinical environment
  • Understanding of the farming sector
  • Understanding the meat processing
