An opportunity has arisen to join our EPMO (Enterprise Portfolio Management Office) professional team.

The purpose of the EPMO team is to provide a centralised function that supports investment management, portfolio governance, best practice, tools and templates for the successful delivery of change into the business. 

This role is responsible for owning, embedding and continuously improving the benefits realisation framework at the Department. This includes providing strategic advice and support to the EPMO Director and the following committees; 

Investment Committee, Portfolio Performance Committee, Portfolio Governance Committees). This role also includes educating project and programme managers in best practice benefits management, ensuring benefits are included in investment cases and providing ongoing support through to project closure and post project benefits realisation monitoring.

To be considered for this position you will need to have the following:

  • At least 5+ years' experience working with large complex business and change programmes/projects.
  • Strong expertise and experience in project, programme and portfolio level benefits modelling, tracking, reporting and realisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in disciplines relating to effective programme and project benefits management.
  • Proven experience in facilitating and consolidating project benefits across a large number of programmes and projects.
  • Expertise in modelling cost/benefit impact scenarios for potential new programmes and projects and changes in circumstances in existing projects, including highlighting potential risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Working knowledge of the NZ public sector including guidelines such as the Treasury Better Business Case guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to facilitate and implement capability knowledge transfer to others.
