Job Description

What you will do
 
This role plays a key part in leading the development and improvement strategy across the NZ Defence Force. You'll work within a small team spread across the country, where you can adapt your work schedule to suit you.
 
You will do a variety of things, including:

  • Coach and mentor NZDF personnel to deliver outcomes;
  • Adapt to engage on both strategic and operational levels;
  • Implement improvement initiatives to produce sustainable benefits;
  • Facilitate and present to small groups.

What we need

Due to the nature of this role, you will need to utilise your effective networking skills to establish and build great relationships across the country.

You'll also have:

  • Practical problem solving and influencing skills;
  • Effective planning and implementation of improvement initiatives;
  • Proven experience with facilitating, coaching and mentoring groups;
  • Excellent organisational skills to handle multiple initiatives at one time;
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).

Please note: that position can be based either in the Wellington CBD or Auckland.

The remuneration band for this position is: $111,056 - $123,749, inclusive of a 4% superannuation contribution.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
