Principal Advisor – Risk 



The Risk and Assurance team provides risk management, business assurance, advisory, fraud and integrity services that support Oranga Tamariki management in the delivery of our strategic priorities and accountabilities. We are a team who work together to deliver an integrated service to the business. 



About the role: 
A rare opportunity has arisen for a professional and proactive individual to join the Risk and Assurance team early in its development. As the principal advisor risk, you will be involved in developing, implementing and embedding strategies that will underpin future operations. 

An overview of your responsibilities: 
-    You will play a key role in developing frameworks and processes that underpin risk management arrangements within Oranga Tamariki
-    You will have responsibility for building understanding and embedding risk management practices throughout Oranga Tamariki
-    Providing specialist advice to the leadership team, managers and staff
-    Working closely with staff to enhance understanding of risk, assurance and integrity policies and best practice
-    Build trusting relationships with key stakeholders
-    Bring fresh ideas to the team and determine what will work best for organisation, so that the work we do enables the organisation to improve



About you: 
This is the perfect opportunity for someone who has previous risk management experience at a senior level and is looking for a new challenge.  In this role, you will need to bring innovation and different ways of working that will help to deliver integrated risk, assurance and integrity services. 



The skills you will bring: 
-    Outstanding relationship skills. You will feel at home being out in the business talking to everyone including our senior leaders and front line staff
-    Demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management and ability to embed a positive risk culture
-    Solid advisory skills paired with the ability to educate staff on best practice
-    The ability to think outside the box and bring new ideas to the team
-    Be resilient and able to overcome obstacles that come your way
-    Be inquisitive and have a desire to understand the business in a way that will enable change
