The New Zealand Government Procurement and Property (NZGPP) Branch is engaged in an ambitious programme to improve procurement capability and commercial outcomes across New Zealand government. 

We currently have a programme of policy work that considers the role that procurement can have on important issues like modern slavery and climate change and can contribute to a more inclusive and productive New Zealand.

We have a great opportunity for a Senior to join this exciting, high performing and tight knit team. 

We are looking for a talented person with the following attributes:

  • excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively
  • critical thinking, analytical skills and an enquiring mind
  • strategic thinking, including the ability to generate new ideas and come up with new approaches
  • an ability to set priorities, deliver project and programme outputs, and meet deadlines
  • a ‘can-do' attitude - action oriented and solution focused
  • confidence and capability to work with a wide range of stakeholders in both the private and public sectors
  • an understanding of the machinery of government
  • likely to have a strong tertiary degree such as policy, law or economics
  • for a senior role, proven experience delivering, or managing, the implementation of complex policy programmes
