Job Description

What you will do
 
The Regional SAPRA is responsible as part of the Sexual Assault Response Team for leading regional prevention and response activities. The SAPRA also has regional responsibility for ensuring that NZDF has systems and processes in place to provide an efficient response to disclosures of sexual assault.
 
As the SAPRA you will also have responsibility for case coordination, information management, provision of advice to Command and other personnel, and quality assurance of service provision to victims/survivors of sexual assault.  Another aspect to this role is the facilitation of training and education to NZDF personnel.
 
What we need

We are seeking a person who has a passion for this work; someone who can bring experience designing and delivering prevention initiatives along with response and crisis work within the sexual violence sector or related field. 

As this type of work is not without its challenges, you'll be highly resilient, adaptive and focussed under pressure.  You're a confident communicator who builds trusted, professional relationships, effectively engaging with a wide range of people and influencing and educating across the organisation.  You confidently resolve conflict and easily adapt your approach and style to suite your audience. 
 
This is a regional position which does require domestic travel and the ability to work from different locations/ bases when required. There is also a 24/7 component to the role which requires you to be on call one week out of five.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance:

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
