About us

Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, creates and supports safe, healthy, inspiring and ICT enabled learning environments. EIS manages the Crown's second largest property portfolio of around 2,500 schools with a book value of $17.8 billion, is responsible for. the largest payroll in the country, and transports over 100,000 students to and from school each day.

EIS has a significant pipeline of on-going construction work and is a leading entity in its involvement with the construction industry, infrastructure development and construction litigation in New Zealand.  EIS also leads a programme of advanced construction contract automation and strives to drive efficiency in its contracting processes.

About the role

EIS Legal is a newly formed and busy legal group within EIS Business Services that provides construction, property and commercial related advice, analysis and opinion to support EIS' function as a strategic infrastructure manager.

The Legal Coordinator. role will support the EIS Legal team and particularly the Senior. Contract Administrator. with general contract administration, document compilation and signing, information and database management, processes and overall team workflow.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need to be an organised and confident self-starter who is systems savvy with an eye for. detail.  You will ideally offer previous experience in project coordination and/or. contract administration within a construction, procurement or. IT team and a willingness to be involved in new projects and challenges.

You will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in applying business performance reporting methods and tools in a service delivery environment
  • Ability to translate technical analysis in a non-technical manner readily understood by operational areas
  • A high level of computer literacy especially in MS Excel to an advanced level and MS Word including data manipulation and presentation
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a diverse group
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
