Working at the Department of Internal Affairs, you ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders.  Commercial Strategy and Delivery business group sits within Service and System Transformation, a branch that includes everything from providing the Department s internal ICT services right through to supporting the Chief Executive in his role as Government Chief Information Officer. We re dedicated to providing services that make our customers lives better and easier.  Last year we launched www.marketplace.govt.nz a fully digital platform for government procurement. 

The Category Portfolio Manager is a member of the team responsible for exposing and growing supplier capability to meet the diverse needs of Government agencies nationwide through a recently launched Marketplace platform that supports the  Digital Strategy for a Public Service. The role is responsible for the strategic oversight, positioning and performance management of an assigned portfolio of catalogues of services offered by approved suppliers that will enable Agencies to realise benefits from innovative shifts in the international and local supply market.

This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in the ongoing growth of an internationally leading digital platform for government procurement. You will be an integral team member helping shape this new function and support the transformation of procurement for a digital age.

You will bring with you knowledge of the ICT supply market, previous experience in a category management role and a very open mind willing to challenge the way we do things . Good analytical skills are a must have and you will have had experience working with analytics tools like Power BI for example.
