The Alcohol and Other Drugs Testing Co-Ordination Team (AOD Team) was created in May 2017 in response to a change in legislation which allows the Department of Corrections to test offenders or defendants based in the community with an abstinence condition for alcohol and drugs for the first time. The primary purpose of the role of an Operation Adviser AOD Team is to co-ordinate alcohol and other drug tests in the Northern Region during the ongoing two year trial of community based alcohol and drug testing for offenders and defendants.

As an Operations Advisor, you will have your own case load assigned to you. This means that you will be reasonable for the organisation and coordination of appointment times, reports, and external agencies in a particular location.

As part of your day-to-day duties you will be:

  • Coordinating and organising appointment times with Offenders
  • Analysing data, providing reports and maintaining databases to a high level
  • Working in partnership with our external service providers and other Government agencies to provide accurate and timely information


We are looking for a Strong Administrator to work in this fast-paced and busy environment. In order to be successful in this role, it is important that you have:

  • Strong administrative skills – in particular experience in coordinating appointments or meetings and entering accurate data
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • The ability to determine priorities and manage your workload accordingly
  • The ability to be innovative in your thinking and problem solve where needed
  • The ability to work as part of a close knit team
