Job Description

What you will do

As the Estate Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, delivery and development of Estate and Infrastructure assets and services within our Devonport Naval Base. This includes:

  • Providing technical expertise and project oversight;
  • ​​​​Financial management and strategic alignment;
  • Annual planning, scheduling and tracking of planned maintenance;
  • Day to day management of staff and assets.

What we need

You will be a dynamic leader who has the skill to lead your team through exciting change and development with Defence Estate and Infrastructure. You'll ensure high standards of performance and empower and engage people to ensure they operate consistently with NZDF's culture and expected behaviours. Ideally, you will also have the following skills and abilities: 

  • Financial understanding and experience;
  • Results orientated;
  • Experience in successfully managing technical staff and professionals;
  • A project management qualification, such as Prince 2.

Who we are

NZDF is undertaking a major regeneration programme developing the Defence Estate in order to achieve our overarching aim of delivering an integrated Defence Force. The Defence Estate is where our personnel live, work and train and comprises of 81,000ha of land, property and infrastructure assets valued at $4.7bn.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for.  The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance

  • Most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five (5) years, OR
  • Is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one of more of the following countries for the last five (5) years; either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level. 

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
