Would you like to apply your extensive occupational health expertise in an international context?

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is seeking a full-time Principal Adviser Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) based in Wellington.

This is a new exciting role for a highly experienced HSW professional (specialising in occupational health & wellbeing) to work across a range of work streams in a complex multinational environment.

Our people operate around the globe and face a diverse range of health and psychosocial risks. This role provides a unique opportunity for you to apply your experience, particularly in occupational health & psychosocial risks, in an international context.

Working closely with the Ministry's Manager Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW), you will act as the primary source of HSW technical information, advice and will lead on the development of the Ministry's Health & Wellbeing Strategy.

The diversity of this role will see you assisting in the establishment of the Ministry's HSW unit and supporting the growth & professional development of junior team members.  Take an active part from the beginning as we shape and deliver a four-year programme of work to further achieve the desired HSW strategic outcomes in our offices in New Zealand and across the world.

What we need

We are looking for someone with significant experience in leading and supporting HSW programmes within large and complex organisations.

You will be the kind of person who has the drive and resilience to lead proactively and deliver sustainable high performance as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.

You will be able to demonstrate strong relationship management skills, be focused on results and understand how to effectively influence & support people to achieve them.
